Mike Reid 79 passed away peacefully Monday, August 26, 2024, at the V.A Hospital, with his loving wife Jeannie and daughter Diana by his side. Mike was born on January 7, 1945, in Jackson, Michigan to Floyd and Katherine Reid. He was educated in the Jackson area where he enjoyed the many lakes and being outdoors. Mike started working at a very young age helping his father support the family by delivering milk. He later got a job as a lifeguard which he really enjoyed. Deeply involved in the YMCA in Jackson, he sold soap to help the kids go to camp. In July 1963, Mike joined the Navy, where he worked with the Marines in San Francisco, with the Shore Patrol. After the military, Mike moved to Tucson, Arizona with his late wife Ruth Reid to give his family a better life. He became a financial advisor, working for Metropolitan Life, and American Financial, until he retired in early 2002. Mike met his wife Jeannie in 2001 where they later married and together enjoyed their retirement years together. He was an avid biker. One of his favorite hobbies was riding his motorcycle with Jeannie. They loved to take many trips on the motorcycle where they created many memories. He was a proud lifetime member of Masonic Epes Randolf Lodge #32, Elks Lodge BPO #2532 and American Legion Post #36. He was also a member of DAV. Mike was a great family man, who loved to spend time with his daughters, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He loved to play sports with his girls and always told stories of his childhood and all his many adventures. He cherished every moment spent with his loved ones, always supporting them. He was a man of great integrity, always putting his family’s needs before his own. Mike is survived by his wife Jeannie Reid, daughter Diana (Bill Tilghman) Reid Robison, daughters by marriage Debra (Hardy) Grover, Dawn (Bryan Pablo) Miller, and Amy (Terry) Wahl. He had eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Mike is preceded in death by his father Floyd Reid, mother Katherine Reid, siblings Dennis Reid and Pat Bair, his late wife Ruth Reid and daughter Nikki Frett. A memorial service will be held, September 27, 2024, at 10:30 am at Swan Burial and Cremation Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 12:30 pm at All Faiths Cemetery, followed by a reception at Elks Lodge BPO #2532 on Pantano Road at 2:00 pm. Pastor Steve Hilton will officiate the service. Mike will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his memory will live on through his children and grandchildren. Rest in peace.
