Joan, who was a loving mother, sister, daughter and friend, suddenly passed away on September 6th, 2024, at the age of 72. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Joan was born in 1951, the fourth daughter of Stanley and Angela (Klocek) Sauer in Albert Lea, Minnesota. She moved to Tucson with her family as a young child and spent the rest of her life there, growing up with her six siblings, marrying twice and raising children. She worked for Pima County for over 30 years.
Joan faced many struggles in her life but always held on tight to her Catholic faith. She was always kind, thoughtful and forgiving. Like the angel she was, she often put the needs of others ahead of her own. She enjoyed tending to her plants, loved to bake and spend time with her family. Her photo collection is a testament to the memories that she held closest to her heart.
Joan is survived by her five children: Charlene (David); Joseph; Thomas (Adriana); Stanley; Alisha Parillo (Peter). She also leaves behind Anthony, the grandson she adopted;10 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and 6 siblings; Lavonne Dryden, Janet Ruggiero, Karen Bliss, Denise Sauer, Danita Carson and James Sauer and his wife Donna. Joan was preceded in death by her parents.
